Well folks, the Bucks could not pull it out. And to be completely honest with you, I have struggled with the loss for the past couple of weeks which is why I have not posted it about it yet. I know, that is not a good reason but it’s the cold hard truth.
If there is one thing that I learned about the playoffs, its that I will come to hate whatever team the Bucks are facing the playoffs. I actually liked a lot of the Raptors players and the team as a whole throughout the season but as the series went along I grew to hate each and every one of their players more than the next.
DeRozan and Lowry are great players have a great ability to create their own shot, but they were both extremely complacent throughout the entire series and that pissed me off more and more each game. PJ Tucker and Jonas were like gnats during the series and could not have annoyed me anymore if they tried. Norman Powell played out of his damn mind and proved to be the difference maker in the series which made me hate him. And lastly, Serge Ibaka. He played extremely well in all six games and was a bit arrogant for my liking. Also, when did he learn to shoot? That pissed me off so much when he was making 3’s consistently.
At the end of the day, it is what it is. The Bucks hung with a team that is just better than them. They had a lot of highs and even more lows. They showed their youth when the game was on the line and were out played. Point, blank, period. They had some dominant games, some games where they just got worked and even made a huge come back but ended up falling short. Even though they fell short, I did like that they kept fighting. That shows a lot of heart and got me excited about next year. This years playoffs were just a training session for years to come and I saw enough pluses to make me feel comfortable about the future. And lets be honest, it wouldn’t have mattered anyway because they would have gotten absolutely spanked by the Cavs anyway. Just ask the Raptors.
Moving forward and looking into next season, I am still extremely excited for what the future holds. Giannis has cemented himself as a Superstar and he will be fun to watch grow. KMidd will be there for what we need him for and Thon and Brogdon will only get better. If Jabari comes back and is effective, that will just be a big plus. If he gets to playing the way he did before he got hurt, the Bucks will be a team to reckoned with because he can create his own shot and is a third weapon for teams to have to pay attention to.
I did want them to win the series just like all of you, but at the end of the day, they were just too young and inexperienced. I am excited to watch them develop and see what the future holds. The next five years will be extremely entertaining to watch. So lets sit back and enjoy.
